About Me
I'm Amy Braunecker, a Marriage and Family Therapist-Candidate (MFT-C) with a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regis University, and I'm currently working toward licensure. I work with children, teens, couples, families, and individuals who are navigating relational stress, emotional overwhelm, or just feeling stuck and disconnected.
I believe healing happens in relationship. My approach is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapies, ACT, and Humanistic Therapy—always with a heart for connection. Whether I'm on the floor with a child in play therapy or holding space for a couple in crisis, I work to create a safe, supportive environment where every part of you is welcome.
As a mom of four and a therapist, I'm deeply passionate about family systems. I carry this quote from John Bowlby in my work: "If we value our children, we must cherish their parents." Supporting parents, partners, and caregivers is one of the most powerful ways we can nurture the next generation. As Sue Johnson says, "When we love our partner well, we offer a blueprint for a loving relationship to our children and their partners."
When I'm not in the therapy room, you'll find me soaking in the chaos and sweetness of everyday life in Lafayette, Colorado—married to my jack-of-all-trades husband and raising four wonderfully unique kids. I also have a love for spoken word poetry and finding joy in ordinary moments, and finding ways to play.
